Creating Your Account & Choosing a Profile
How to sign up, and the difference between a Candidate, Recruiter, and Agency account.
3 min readClick Sign Up and pick who you are
Every account starts the same way: click Sign Up from any page. The very first question is your profile: Candidate (job hunting), Recruiter (hiring for one company), or Agency (hiring for multiple client companies). Pick honestly. It changes what the rest of the app shows you. Buying aggregate hiring data instead of hiring on the platform? That's a separate signup on the Partners page, not one of the roles picked here (see the Market Intelligence category).
Candidates skip straight to the good part
If you picked Candidate, there's no extra step. Just your name, email, and a password, and you're in. Applying, tracking applications, and reviewing employers is completely free, and always will be.
Candidates can skip the password entirely
On the Create Account tab, a candidate can sign up with Google, LinkedIn, or Apple instead of choosing a password, under "Or skip the password". Tick the terms box first: those buttons stay disabled until you do, because agreeing has to happen here rather than being assumed after you come back. Whichever of the three appears depends on what the platform admin has enabled.
Recruiters and Agencies link a company
If you picked Recruiter or Agency, you'll be asked to find your company (or add it if it isn't listed yet) before creating your account. This is what ties your login to your company's public profile and response-time record. These two roles still create the account with an email and password, because the signup also handles company claiming and billing.
Faster sign-in later with Google, LinkedIn, or Apple
Whatever role you are, once an account exists you can come back and sign in with a connected Google, LinkedIn, or Apple account instead of typing your password, whichever of those your platform admin has turned on.
Finish creating your profile
Fill in your name, work email, and a password, agree to the terms, and you're done. You'll land straight on your own dashboard, no separate confirmation step to dig through.
