Transferring Company Ownership
How to safely hand off Owner access to another teammate without losing anyone's seat.
2 min readOnly an existing Owner can start a transfer
From your team management screen, select an existing team member to become the new Owner. You can only transfer to someone already on the team, not to a brand-new invite.
The new owner has to accept
A transfer never happens unilaterally. The teammate you selected gets a request and has to explicitly accept it before ownership actually changes hands.
The old owner keeps their seat
Once accepted, the previous Owner is automatically demoted to Editor rather than removed. They keep full access to listings and applicants, just not billing or future ownership transfers.
Good moments to do this
Common reasons: the original signer is leaving the company, a more senior hiring lead is taking over the account, or you're consolidating who holds billing responsibility.
